Some SplodgeAway Samples...

For today's update I wanted to post some of the samples I made for the SplodgeAway TV show on Create & Craft last week and I have included the very technical reversed embossing technique that makes numbers appear the wrong way round!!! Everyone's favourite. It reminded me of a past sample - remember the five legged unicorn.... I'll say no more.

These samples were made using centura pearl card and distress inks. I was very inpressed by the soft pastel look you can get by using the SplodgeAway mat and DI.

This week I get to play with the Distress Paints and I have to say so far I'm impressed with their coverage and fluidity.

Whatever you do this week,enjoy

A Touch of Gelli

Can you believe it - a friend has told me this week that we have had snow in some form since October... that's SIX MONTHS .... please oh please can we have some sunshine..... soon

I've been playing with my Gelli Plate, paints and brayer and got some lovely effects going on. I have to restrict myself otherwise the whole craft den takes upresidence in the kitchen, much to my son's disgust... I mean where can a boy make his cheese and ham sandwiches.....

Other adventures include some new purchases - JOFY stamps. These just spoke to me and well I bought them.

In homage to the White Stuff.....

After a couple of 'spring like' days in Birmingham, earlier this week, I drove home to find the garden with snowdrops dancing to the breeze and daring to seek out the sun. However, yesterday the snow arrived back and we are all freezing again. The snowdrops have hidden their faces but I wanted to play around with white. I just love the white on white combo. After several visits to the craft den, getting side tracked with some Dylusions, and just don't speak to me about internet dropout..... I made this.

The stamp is an old one from Dark Room Door and has become a favorite in my collection.

I shall be making my way to Liverpool on Saturday for a workshop / demo. I'll post the details later as the snow is affecting the internet and is making me mad. Going to craft and find my calm again.

Back Soon

Simplicity

Can you believe it, 3rd January already,Craft Den has been spring cleaned, washing on the line and blowing nicely in the breeze and the kitchen door is open - Yes it's 12 degrees here, what is going on .......

January is a busy Birthday month in our family so here's something I put together for my Auntie. It's got to be a first being a day ahead of myself.

The butterflies were cut on the Cricut and layered up onto some paper stash I found in a box whilst having a clear out.

On the sewing front my fabric has been cut out - just need to negotiate a convenient time to access the sewing machine as my DD is constructing a 1920's style bag for her textiles course work!!

Have a creative day

Spinning Christmas Tree

It's amazing what a bit of 'R&R' can do to get the creative juices flowing.

I've been out and bought some fabric and I'm gonna have a go with a sewing machine.... can you hear the family groan!!!!!! I have a pattern for a lovely owl cushion and have decided to confront those school sewing class nightmares... watch this space.

Christmas at home was a busy affair - Maria and family came to stay and we had a lovely time. The cairn terrorist played her famous christmas role - how to make a christmas tree spin. She seems to like dragging the tinsel off the bottom of the tree and send the baubles flying whilst rubbing her back on the branches!

I got some delicious crafty goodies from Santa aka Maria and today is the day I get to play with them.

I'll leave you with more Dylusion Inkiness and Wish You All The Best For the New Year

Dylusion Play Day

Posted by Picasa

Firstly I just wanted to say a Big Thank you to all you lovely bloggers who have thanked me for my posting efforts on the SplodgeAway Design Team. I have now stepped down as DT Coordinator and wish everyone well in their new roles.

This journal page was something that just came together. I'm completely addicted to the creative possibilities of these dylusion inks. For me the fact that the nozzels never block is genius. Nothing more frustrating than a blocked nozzel to starve the creative zone of inspiration. This week at school I raided the recycle bin for some star shaped bubble wrap - can't wait to see what results we get with that.

Thank you to all the Ladies who came to the Clarity Stampers North East Day last week. It was great spending time with you and I promise I'm on the case for bookings for next year!!

TFL and Enjoy your day
